As of June 1, 2009, ALL power vessel operators, REGARDLESS OF AGE, will be required to possess a boating safety certificate.
In January of 2006, the New Jersey Legislature passed a law requiring anyone that operates a motorized boat or watercraft in state waters, to have to pass a state approved boating safety course and accompanying test.
Each boater is required to successfully complete an 8 hour instructional course.
In addition, each boater must get a passing grade on the written test following the course. |
